Application Interview and Process for The TellingThe current status of participants entering The Telling is reviewed on a person by person basis based on the following criteria. Each individual is unique in finding wholeness and healing. Give Her Voice, Inc, supports a safe space to explore, express and emerge from the trauma of complex trauma through the creative process, spiritual practice, and recovery steps. The Telling, a multi-media production integrates each person’s experience of themselves, opens their heart to love and compassion, and ignites the power of the inner artist, creative vision, and their belongingness to help the community.
THE HEALING POWER OF TRANSFORMATIVE STORYTELLING
T rust. Identify trauma triggers and defenses that block love. R adical Self-Care and Self-Acceptance creates a safe space for intimacy, creativity and healing. A ctive Compassion, Emotional Recovery and Creative Expression heals the whole being. U nderstand the transformative power of love and creativity that comes from pain. M ovement and growth through feeling, expressing and receiving love. A wareness and mindfulness teaches forgiveness.

- Individual Processes: personal mythology, spiritual healing, emotional awareness, family patterning and creative expression
- Using the senses, feelings, and memories to dramatize story
- Support, healing, creative, spiritual and emotional breakthrough
- Working with group to structure, script and rehearse
- Receive support of the group to birth story
- Learning the edges, boundaries and containment to create story structure

The Telling is for:
- Survivors and Thrivers wanting to transform their trauma into art, dig deep into their souls, find their own visionary purpose, and have the courage to speak their truth.
- Women who have been through an initial recovery process and are finding their in-powerment.
- Women willing to understand co-dependency, 12 step process and unconscious aspects of their recovery such as, the continued effects of PTSD, grief process, chronic illness and addictions.
- Women wanting to continue learning about themselves and be supported in self discovery
- Women wanting to find their creative voice
- Women wanting to find their artistic, leadership and visionary purpose
- Women who can forgive themselves, accept their feelings and surrender to a spiritual purpose.
- Women who believe creativity is a spiritual-healing practice
- Women who are not afraid to feel, express, receive be vulnerable and imperfect
- Women wanting to be part of a powerful, vulnerable community of women who have the strength for continual change and embrace the unexpected…go to places that are new and unfamiliar.
- Women who are willing to take responsibility, self-care and spiritual discipline as a practice in their everyday life.
The Telling is not for:
- Women still needing intervention, privacy and learning recovery skills
- Women in legal complications, divorce, needing safety from abusers
- Women protecting their families from harm
- Women in the midst of depression, grief, rage, PTSD, and who are not actively in recovery of their addictions.
- Women not interested in continuing a process of healing
- Women who think they are tough enough to heal alone
- Women who aren't ready to be part of a creative community and be public with their recovery
- Women who are still learning trust, responsibility skills, and accountability to take charge of their lives
- Women who want to just move on and forget the past
- Women who do not believe creativity and spiritual practice has anything to do with their healing
